Tunghai University, with the most beautiful campus in Taiwan, is a comprehensive university of humanities, science and technology, and arts. Tunghai University has been widely praised by the society for its excellent performance, and has received grants from the Higher Education SPROUT Project Ministry of Education (MOE) in Taiwan more than 120 million NTD in 2023, ranking among the top funded universities in Taiwan. The department has also signed a contract with Amazon, a global leader in e-commerce and cloud services, to establish the first "Cloud Innovation Academy" in Taiwan to cultivate talents in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, big data, digital innovation, and cloud computing technology and services needed by the industry. In recent years, information technology (IT) has been constantly evolving, and its impact on the industry and economy is increasing with the times. The world's top 10 industries have been filled with companies that excel in digital economy, as a result the industry is in urgent need of highly intelligent, professional and cross-disciplinary professionals. The department cultivates talents in the information industry, and currently focuses on the fields of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, big data and digital innovation. The department is the first in Taiwan to teach students in three core categories: the Information and Computer Engineering Category, the Software Engineering Category and the Artificial Intelligence Category, aiming to cultivate talents with information technology and creative thinking (Computer Science + X), with cross-disciplinary cooperation with other departments, including the Department of Industrial Design, the Department of Architecture, and the Department of Music. The department also offers Master Program, In-service Master Program, and Master Program of Digital Innovation in the College of Engineering. Artificial Intelligence Development and Application Field
To focus on the application of artificial intelligence related technologies to various application fields, including AI R&D and application of major information companies, machine learning, drone technology, autonomous vehicles technology, robotics, data science, image recognition, speech analysis, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent healthcare, financial technology and other AI applications suitable for the development and career of CS students.
Information and Electrical System Integration Application Field
To cultivate information and electrical professionals. It aims to train students to have software and hardware integration design capabilities, and become design talents for the Internet of Things, SOC chips and embedded systems, suitable for applications in fields including artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, robots, cloud services, computing technology related technology industries, embedded systems, system integration and application related industries, computer control, chip application circuit design, circuit board layout design, intelligent Internet of Things ( AIoT), big data, cloud monitoring systems, and consumer electronics design, etc.
Software Technology Development and Application Field
To cultivate information software programming professionals. It aims to train students to have large-scale software development technology and project management ability. The course covers software design technology, large-scale software development, including artificial intelligence application software, software project management, big data, information security, etc. The department has a number of different forms of collaboration with dozens of high-tech industries and research institutes, providing students with an industry learning environment and a way to learn about the industry in advance and consider career opportunities before graduation. All information software development industries, offering career opportunities such as program administration, project administration, APP development, website development, system integration, system analysis and AOI software testing development, are also suitable for the development and future employment of our students.
Digital Technology Innovation Application Field
To cultivate cross-field professionals (CS+ innovation) of innovation and digital integration, combining information technology, artificial intelligence, visual creativity, and design aesthetics to train students to create information life applications. It includes fields in Internet of Things, intelligent applications, Raspberry Pi design, AR/VR, digital cultural innovation, UX Design, etc. The department combines professors from other departments and experts in different fields to establish a digital innovation application alliance. Through the rich industrial relationship and experience of teachers and experts, combined with the advantages of Taiwan's hardware industry and the R&D energy of the department, and through cross-domain technology integration, we are able to develop digital technology innovation and applications, and play the role of "defining the future". Digital innovation applications require the integration of multimedia, wireless networks, sensing and remote control, smart handheld devices, embedded systems, hardware design, software application development, and digital content innovation. Such creative applications are not only happening in the world of toys, but are also beginning to emerge in various fields, including leisure, medical care, sports, architecture, military, multimedia, etc.
Information Security Technology and Application Field
Many teachers in the department have achieved quite good research results in the field of information security and digital content protection. In recent years, the department has held several seminars on information security, and teachers have guided students to participate in information security competitions, and they have also performed well. For example, in the "Golden Shield Award" competition for information security skills in colleges and universities, students from our department have participated in the competition for three consecutive years, and have won two championships and one runner-up among more than 50 groups of elites from various universities (including National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Cheng Kung University, etc.).
